The great old man Frost or ‘Father Frost’, lived in the snow-blanketed forests with the other fantastical fairy-folk. To those lost in the forest he could be a kindly presence, offering blankets and warmth, or he could be cold, leaving wayward travelers to the mercy of the frost.
