Finist the Falcon and the Merchants daughter

A young merchants daughter asked her father to gift her the feather of Finist the Falcon; a magical feather which brought the man-falcon to her, and the pair fell in love. All was well until the girl’s elder sisters grew jealous of her. They placed knives in the young girls window so that when her avian lover flew to meet her, he would be cut by the blades.
